SPORTS CLUBS

Run your club on sunshine.

Floodlights, clubrooms, hot showers, the pool – clubs use a lot of power, and those bills compete with everything else you'd rather spend on. Solar lets your club generate its own clean energy, cut running costs, and free up funds for members, teams and facilities. With storage and the full LocalSmart system, you can run evening fixtures on power you made during the day – and offer discounted power to your members, so they save on their own bills while helping fund the club.

CASE STUDY

LOCAL CAN DO ANY SIZE

Go Media Stadium is New Zealand's first solar-powered major sports venue. Our installation partner Endless Energy fitted 1,651 panels across both grandstands – one of the largest rooftop solar installs in the country – designed to cover around 60% of the stadium's annual power needs.

  • 800,000 kWh generated a year

  • $100,000+ saved annually

  • 36 tonnes of CO₂ avoided every year

  • 6–8 years to pay back

In July 2025, a sold-out Warriors match became the first major sporting event in Aotearoa powered primarily by solar.
